Job Duties

• Help clients with personal hygiene, dressing, bathing, feeding, and other daily tasks according to the care plan
• Perform basic health care services for clients according to the care plan
• Help with general light housekeeping
• Work with the health care team like LPNs, RNs, in following the care plan
• Observe and report on client condition
• Keep up with in-service training
• Other duties assigned

Skills & Qualifications:

• Graduate from a recognized provincial Health Care Aide program
• Gerontology experience an asset
• Communicate effectively - read, comprehend and communicate information relevant to the role
• Recognize, interpret and respond to non-verbal cues
• Have strong time management and advocacy skills, able to multi-task, exercise good judgement, strong collaboration and problem solving as part of a team
• Have knowledge of basic anatomy, physiology, normal development and behavior
• Recognize the importance of personal wellness as it relates to seniors care
